All London's live music

Dream Pop, Shoegaze

Chestnut Bakery

Shacklewell Arms, E8 2EB , [Venue Details]

Chestnut bakery are Sango (drum), Levy (lead guitar) and Rye (guitar and vocal). What started as jam session in their dusty band room next to the university campus between 2011 and 2014 has turned into something people called dream-pop and shoegaze.

Saturday,
6 Dec 2025
@7.30pm

Mixed and mastered by Jovi from Boring Productions, their sound is reminiscent of their 90s-influences such as The Sundays, Mazzy Star, Alison’s Halo and Slowdive, with a subtle touch of 00s mandarin indie-pop. Accompanied by Levy’s minimalistic guitar playing and Sango’s restraint and yet emotional energy on the drums, Rye sings about nostalgia, the occassional regrets and shiny little moments in her life, in a confessional way. Followed by their graduation in 2015, they released their debut album, Diaries. Nearly a decade later, they released their latest EP, Sun Melting, Rain Drizzling. Out of coincidences, these three best friends are now based in Europe. Their journey contines on tour
